On the $250 plan your child gets one session a month with me, one to one, at Oakleigh Recreation Centre in Melbourne. It is the monthly review done on court instead of on paper, with habits corrected in the moment rather than described over video.
Liddicoat Basketball, coaching players aged 7 to 17
It is not a generic private lesson. It is the monthly review, done in person.
That means the session is built from what the last four weeks actually showed. The things the clips could not fully resolve, the habits that only appear under fatigue, and the corrections that are quicker to fix with someone standing next to them than over video.
Some things simply do not transfer through a phone. Footwork under contact, balance on a contested shot, and how a player reads space are all much faster to fix on a court.
Oakleigh Recreation Centre, in Melbourne. A public venue, during normal operating hours, with other people around.
There is no transport of players. You bring your child and you are welcome to stay, and most parents do. Nothing about the session needs to happen privately.
It is one to one, so the whole hour is theirs rather than shared with a group.
The honest answer is that it depends on the player. The $100 plan is genuinely complete coaching, and plenty of players do very well on it.
The in person session is worth it when the limiting factor is something physical and hard to self diagnose, when a player learns much better by feel than by instruction, or when a month of video has not shifted something.
If you are not sure, start on the $100 plan. Moving up later is straightforward and you will have a much better idea by then. I would rather you paid less and it worked.
