Basketball Ballarat is the association for Ballarat and its surrounds, running domestic competition for juniors and seniors as well as the Miners representative program.
Being a regional association changes a few practical things compared to Melbourne. The association covers a wider catchment, so travel to a home game can be longer than a metro family would expect, and rep travel is a much bigger commitment because most opposition is in Melbourne.
Basketball Ballarat runs across three venues, so check your fixture rather than defaulting to the main stadium.

The representative program is the Junior Miners, running from Under 12 upward.
Under 14 through Under 18 compete in the VJBL, which means travelling to play Melbourne associations. That's the single biggest difference between rep basketball in a regional association and rep in the metro area, and it's worth understanding before you commit a season of Fridays to it.

Basketball Ballarat runs its fixtures and results through PlayHQ, which is the platform most Victorian basketball uses. If you can't find a draw, that's where it lives rather than on the association website.
Domestic is the open entry competition and there's no tryout. Contact the association through Selkirk Stadium or the Minerdome with your child's age and they will point you at a club with room.
For the Junior Miners you need to attend tryouts, generally held around October for the following season.
