Every message between me and your child happens in a group chat that you are in. I never message a player privately, ever. You see every piece of feedback, every question they ask and every answer they get. This is the minimum you should expect from any coach.
Liddicoat Basketball, coaching players aged 7 to 17
There is one chat. It has your child in it, you in it, and me in it. Nothing happens outside it.
I do not message players privately. Not to arrange a session, not to send a drill, not for anything. If something needs to be said to your child, it gets said where you can see it.
There is no version of this where a coach needs a private channel to a young player. If a coach ever tells you otherwise, that is worth paying attention to.
It is uncomfortable to market a safeguarding practice as a benefit, because it should be ordinary. But it is not ordinary enough, and parents deserve to know how it works before they hand over their child's attention.
The research on harm in community sport is consistent on one point: private one to one contact between an adult and a child is where risk concentrates. Removing the private channel removes the mechanism. It is not a complete answer to child safety, and I would not claim it is.
It also has a practical benefit. You know what your child is being told, so you can back it up rather than accidentally contradicting it.
You will see everything, including the weeks where the feedback is that they have not done the work. That is deliberate. A parent who only sees the good weeks cannot help.
It also means you can ask questions yourself, in the same place, and get the same answer your child got.
For the in person session on the $250 plan the same principle applies: a public venue, never a closed room, and no transport of players.
The rest of what you get
No. Every message is in the group chat with you in it, with no exceptions.
A private WhatsApp group with you, your child and me in it.
They stay in the private group and are deleted three months after you cancel. See the child safety page for the full detail.
Both plans are month to month with no joining fee and no lock in. Ask me anything before you sign up to anything.
