Warrandyte Basketball lists the Warrandyte Sports Complex at Andersons Creek Primary School, 36 to 42 Drysdale Road, Warrandyte 3113, as a home venue. Its other home venue is Donvale Christian College at 155 Tindals Road, Donvale, entering via Gate 1. Warrandyte High School is used for training only. Redbacks junior games are on Saturdays in the EDJBA.
The thing to know first is that Warrandyte's main venue isn't a standalone council stadium. Warrandyte Basketball lists the Warrandyte Sports Complex, which it abbreviates to WSC on fixtures, at Andersons Creek Primary School, 36 to 42 Drysdale Road, Warrandyte 3113. The EDJBA's venue list names the same venue as Warrandyte Sports Complex (Anderson Creek Primary), Drysdale Road, Warrandyte 3113.
So if you're searching for a basketball stadium and your maps app shows a primary school, that's expected. Put the full Drysdale Road address in rather than the word stadium.
In October 2014 Manningham Council wrote that the association was operating at capacity at its home stadium at Anderson Creek Primary School, with 106 teams splitting competition and training across nine stadiums. That was over a decade ago, so treat those numbers as history rather than today's picture.
Warrandyte Basketball lists three home venues, and only two of them host games.
Donvale Christian College, abbreviated DCC, is at 155 Tindals Road, Donvale 3111. The association says to enter via Gate 1, and the EDJBA venue list shows two courts there, Court 1 and Court 2, also with entry via Gate 1.
Warrandyte High School, abbreviated WHS, is a training venue only. The association lists it at the corner of Warrandyte and Alexander Road, Warrandyte, with access off Alexander Road at Carpark 2. Another page on the association's site says to use Gate 2, so read whatever your team manager sends for training.
If a fixture says WSC, DCC or WHS, those are the three codes to match.
Warrandyte's junior domestic teams play as the Redbacks in the EDJBA, the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association. The association says games are generally fixtured between 8:30am and 6:30pm each Saturday of the season, excluding public holidays, with younger age groups playing earlier in the day.
The association says away games are played in stadiums across the eastern suburbs, including Bulleen, Collingwood, Doncaster, Doreen, Balwyn, Eltham, Ivanhoe, Banyule and Blackburn. That spread is why the venue on your fixture matters more than the club name.
Training is once a week, a 45 minute session between Monday and Thursday from 4pm onwards, at the Warrandyte Sports Complex, Donvale Christian College or Warrandyte High School. The association says the EDJBA plays two seasons a year, winter during terms two and three, and summer during terms four and one.
Warrandyte's representative teams play as the Venom in the VJBL. The association says games are on Friday evenings in and around metropolitan Melbourne between 6:30pm and 11pm, at its home venues and at other clubs' venues.
The association says the representative season runs for nearly twelve months, starting with tryouts and team selection each October, followed by grading games in November, a break from mid December, more grading from February, and a season proper from March of about 18 rounds, with finals in late August to mid September.
Venom teams train at least once a week, for at least 90 minutes a session, according to the association. The same three home venues apply.
Warrandyte Basketball lists its email as info@warrandytebasketball.com.au and its phone number as 0456 172 992. Its postal address is PO Box 237, Warrandyte 3113, which is a mailbox, not a venue, so don't put it into your maps app.
The association partners with the Warrandyte Park Orchards Referee Branch for referee services in its local area, and lists the referee contact as referees@warrandytebasketball.com.au. Redbacks uniforms are sold through the association's uniform shop, which it says is located at the Warrandyte Sports Complex, or by email to uniforms@warrandytebasketball.com.au.
We couldn't find any official casual shooting or public court hire at the Warrandyte Sports Complex, so we haven't listed any. If you need extra court time, ask the association.
Its home venues are the Warrandyte Sports Complex at Andersons Creek Primary School, 36 to 42 Drysdale Road, Warrandyte, and Donvale Christian College, 155 Tindals Road, Donvale, entering via Gate 1. Warrandyte High School is used for training only.
