The address is 270 Stud Road, Dandenong North 3175. Greater Dandenong Council, the Dandenong Basketball Association and the stadium's own website all give the same address, so this is one you can trust without double checking.
Stud Road is a major arterial and the stadium sits right on it, which makes it easy to find and harder to turn into at busy times. Work out before you leave which side of the road you'll be approaching from, because a turn across traffic on a Saturday morning can add several minutes to a trip you had timed perfectly.
Note the suburb is Dandenong North, not Dandenong. It matters if you're typing a suburb into a maps app rather than a full street address, because they're two different suburbs and you can easily end up in the wrong one.
Dandenong Stadium's own website lists up to fifteen basketball courts and up to nineteen volleyball courts. The reason the number is given as a range is that the halls get divided and reconfigured depending on what's booked, so the court count on a given day isn't fixed.
Whatever the exact number on the morning you arrive, it's a very large building. Treat it like an airport on your first visit: find your court number before you find your seat, and agree a meeting point with your child before you separate.
There's a cafe and catering on site, a function room seating 250, and a gym available for hire. Greater Dandenong Council describes it as a premier sporting facility that hosts national, state and school events and is the home of Volleyball Victoria, so on a big weekend there may be more than basketball happening.
The Dandenong Basketball Association is based at the stadium and runs approximately 800 domestic teams every week, from Under 8 through to Open Age divisions. The association says the venue draws around 17,000 visitors a week, which is a genuinely remarkable number for a community sports building.
Junior domestic at Dandenong covers age groups from Under 8 up to Under 23, and is graded into A, B and social divisions, so teams play others at their own level. That spread of grades is the practical benefit of a huge association: a child who isn't ready for the top grade still has a competition at their level rather than being thrown in at the deep end.
The association also runs representative programs and 3x3 tournaments out of the stadium.
An association running 800 teams a week can't fit them all under one roof, even a roof this size. Dandenong plays out of several venues around the area in addition to the main stadium, so you'll occasionally be sent somewhere else.
Read the fixture. If it says Dandenong Stadium, you're on Stud Road. If it names a school, you're not, and the address will be a different suburb entirely.
This is the most common mistake new Dandenong families make, and it's an expensive one on a Saturday morning, because the drive between venues in that part of the south east isn't short.
The stadium's published hours are 9am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm on Saturday and 9am to 6pm on Sunday, so Saturday junior basketball sits comfortably inside the window. Your fixture time is what matters, not the building hours.
On parking, the honest position is that neither the stadium nor the council publishes a space count or a parking policy, so this guide isn't going to invent one. What's safe to say is that a building drawing 17,000 people a week generates a busy car park at changeover, and arriving fifteen minutes early is worth more here than at a four court suburban venue.
If it's your child's first game, walk them to their court and let them see the bench before the previous game finishes. In a room this size, a nine year old who has been dropped at the door will spend the first quarter looking for you in the crowd instead of watching the ball.
Dandenong publishes junior domestic fees on its website. For the 2026 and 2027 summer season it lists a 70 dollar registration plus a per game fee, 74 dollars a game for Under 8s and 101 dollars a game for Under 10 through Under 23, along with the Basketball Victoria participant licence at 29 dollars for juniors seventeen and under and a Basketball Australia levy of 5.50 dollars a year.
Those per game figures are team fees, not individual fees, and they're usually split across the squad by the team manager. If a fee looks alarming at first glance, check whether you're reading a team number or a player number before you panic.
Bring a drink bottle, and expect the cafe queue to be long at the hour changeover. It's a big building with a lot of people all getting hungry at once.
