Wollondilly Basketball Association plays as the Wollondilly Razorbacks out of Wollondilly Leisure Centre, 434 Argyle St, Picton. Juniors play a Friday night competition, and rep teams play in the Southern Junior League and the Barrengarry League against regions south of Wollondilly. Trials for 2027 rep teams run on weeknights in October, starting on Monday 12 October.

Wollondilly Basketball Association (WBA) was founded in the 1990s and has more than 30 years of history in the Wollondilly Shire. It says it has over 210 athletes, who play as the Wollondilly Razorbacks. Basketball NSW lists it as Wollondilly Basketball among its affiliated associations.
It is a not-for-profit run by volunteers, with a board elected each August at its annual general meeting. Player fees, sponsorships and fundraising go back into teams, facilities, uniforms and development programs, and the association says its sponsors help keep the cost of playing more affordable than at many other associations.
Its social training and games are at Wollondilly Leisure Centre in Picton, and it says boys and girls of every age and skill level are welcome.
Registrations are open for the 2027 Wollondilly Razorbacks Representative Program. The trial notice, posted on 30 September, lists three October sessions for each group.
Under 18 boys (born 2010 or 2011): Mondays 12, 19 and 26 October, 6:30pm to 8pm. Under 12 girls (born 2016, 2017 or 2018): Tuesdays 13, 20 and 27 October, 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Under 14 girls (born 2014 or 2015): Tuesdays 13, 20 and 27 October, 6:30pm to 7:45pm. Under 14 boys (born 2014 or 2015): Wednesdays 14, 21 and 28 October, 6:30pm to 8pm. Under 12 boys (born 2016, 2017 or 2018): Thursdays 15, 22 and 29 October, 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Under 16 boys and girls (born 2012 or 2013): Thursdays 15, 22 and 29 October, 6:30pm to 8pm.
No Under 18 girls trial is listed. The notice does not state the trial venue or a trial fee, so check both with the association when you register.
If your child has previously played rep in a Waratah Junior League and wants to trial with a different association, they may need a Basketball NSW Intent to Trial form. The association asks that all registration and Intent to Trial paperwork is done before trials, and says it welcomes both returning and new players.
The Razorbacks field rep teams for boys and girls from Under 12 to Under 18 in two competitions. The Southern Junior League (SJL) is part of the Waratah League, and the association calls it an elite level of competition against regions south of Wollondilly. The Barrengarry League is a development league that gives players the chance to represent the association against other regions south of Wollondilly. The Razorbacks first entered the SJL in 2023.
That means travel. The representative handbook on its website, whose sponsor list is dated 1 November 2025, planned SJL rounds in Canberra, Illawarra and Albury/Wodonga, and tells families to book accommodation early because prices rise closer to each event. It says most Barrengarry rounds are expected at Shellharbour City Stadium or Illawarra Sports Stadium.
Rep fees are paid through Basketball Connect, with payment plans available, but the amount is not published on the website. Parents help with bench duty, every team takes part in at least one association fundraiser, and players must wear Razorbacks competition apparel, or plain black without other team branding until they have it. Training is compulsory unless otherwise advised, and team communication runs through the Heja app.
The association also supports players to trial for Basketball NSW's State Performance Program and High Performance Program, and its handbook reports players progressing into Basketball NSW programs such as the U12 Jamboree and the John Martin Country Cup.
Wollondilly Leisure Centre, 434 Argyle St, Picton NSW. The Friday night competition, Aussie Hoops and social training are all here.
Rep rounds are held away from Picton, at the SJL and Barrengarry venues named in the handbook above.
The junior local competition, the Subway Junior Comps, is on Friday nights at Wollondilly Leisure Centre, with games from 5:45pm. Boys and girls aged 10 to 17 are welcome, and games are split by age and general skill level. The association's Basketball Connect page lists mixed Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 divisions.
The Summer 2026/27 season is 18 weeks long, spanning Term 4 2026 and Term 1 2027, with a break over Christmas and no games on Friday 5 March 2027 (the SJL travel round) or Good Friday, 26 March 2027. Players are placed in their 2027 age division. Registration is $190, as published when we checked on 9 October 2026, and Active Kids vouchers are accepted. The association's Get Involved page still quotes an older figure of $85 a term.
Registrations for this season close on Friday 9 October 2026. If you have missed that, email the association to ask about a place.
Basketball NSW annual registration may also be required, and the association says it is charged automatically through Basketball Connect at a cost that depends on age.
Aussie Hoops Learn to Play is for children aged 5 to 10 who are new to basketball or building their skills. The Term 4 2026 program runs on Fridays from 5pm to 5:45pm at Wollondilly Leisure Centre, from 16 October to 11 December 2026. It costs $95, and new participants also buy a $50 starter pack with a basketball, customised jersey and sticker pack. Active Kids vouchers are accepted, and registrations close on Thursday 15 October 2026.
Aussie Hoops finishes at 5:45pm, the time the Friday junior games start, so a family with a younger and an older child can do both at the same venue on the same night.
The association says it nominates as many rep teams as it can, based on the availability of coaches and referees, so that as many players as possible get to compete at representative level. Its Barrengarry teams are the development level of the program.
The program is formally called the Representative and Development Program, and the player agreement covers both representative and development players, though the website does not explain how development places are allocated.
The Friday night competition keeps your child playing every week. And from age 12, players can complete the Community Referee Course and then referee Friday night games, which the association pitches as a way to build basketball understanding and confidence while getting paid.
Everything runs through Basketball Connect. Set up an account using the association's instructions, then register for the Friday competition, Aussie Hoops or the rep trials. The association says Basketball Connect lets families pay in instalments rather than upfront. Questions go to secretary@wollondillyrazorbacks.com.
