Parramatta Cumberland Basketball Association, which calls itself Cumberland Basketball, runs every program at Camellia Indoor Sports Centre. It replaced the West Sydney Wolves in December 2025, and its rep teams are now the Cumberland Chargers. Junior trials for the 2027 season are on 17, 18, 25 and 29 October, at $25 per stage.

The Parramatta Cumberland Basketball Association (PCBA), which goes by Cumberland Basketball, is Basketball NSW's recognised provider of community basketball in the Parramatta and Cumberland council areas. Its representative teams are the Cumberland Chargers. All of its programs and competitions run at one venue, the Camellia Indoor Sports Centre, which it describes as minutes from Parramatta's CBD, with multiple hardwood courts, a canteen and plenty of parking. The association is managed by Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG).
If you knew the area's basketball under another name, this is why. On 16 December 2025 Basketball NSW announced PCBA as its newest member association and the recognised provider of community basketball in the Parramatta and Cumberland local government areas. The same announcement closed the West Sydney Wolves as a Basketball NSW member, and all former Wolves members became members of PCBA. Basketball NSW said the rep program would compete under a new name and identity, and the 2027 trials are run under the Chargers name.
The association's site still hosts the West Sydney Wolves' 2026 representative trials information pack, which carries Wolves branding. Use the 2027 pages linked below for anything current.
Junior trials for 2027 have four stages, all at Camellia Indoor Sports Centre. Trial 1 is on Saturday 17 October and Trial 2 on Sunday 18 October. Trial 3 on Sunday 25 October and Trial 4 on Thursday 29 October are by invitation only. Times differ by age group, and some later sessions split boys and girls.
The 2027 age groups are Under 12 for players born 2016 and 2017, Under 14 for 2014 and 2015, Under 16 for 2012 and 2013, and Under 18 for 2010 and 2011. No previous rep experience is needed, and players from other associations are welcome. Selectors say they look at skill, effort, teamwork, communication, basketball knowledge and coachability.
Each stage of the trial process costs $25. Every trialist must complete PCBA's own Intent to Trial form before registering, whatever association they come from. A child who played rep for another association also falls under Basketball NSW's rules, which require an Intent to Trial form before trialling at a new association and say the form is not a clearance.
A player who cannot attend a trial because of exceptional circumstances must email an exemption request to the association, with a current medical certificate if it is for injury. Anyone given a medical exemption is still expected to come to the trial and watch. Successful players are notified by email once selection is complete.

PCBA had not published a 2027 Chargers season fee when we checked on 9 October 2026; the trials page gives only the $25 per stage. The last published fees are in the West Sydney Wolves' 2026 Representative Trials Information pack, with the first payment due 31 October 2025: $1,650 for a selected player and $950 for a development player, paid as an acceptance payment plus four instalments.
Those fees covered Basketball NSW game fees, team nomination, court hire for training and games, referees, supervisors and coaching. They did not cover Basketball NSW membership, tournaments outside the regular season, uniforms or extra training.
The 2026 information pack described each team as 10 selected players plus 2 to 3 development players, who train with the team all season but do not play games. It said the teams compete in Basketball NSW's Waratah Junior Leagues, with Team 1 in each age group typically in the highest division available. The 2027 trials page does not say whether the Chargers program keeps the same structure.
Everything happens at one address: local competition, Aussie Hoops, skills programs, rep trials and rep training. So once you know the way to Camellia, you know where every session is.

PCBA runs two junior local competitions this spring. The Friday Night competition has Under 10 mixed, Under 12, 14 and 16 boys in Division 1 and 2, and Under 12, 14 and 16 girls. It started on Friday 11 September, the regular season ends on 11 December and finals are on 18 December, 12 rounds plus finals. The Wednesday Night competition is for Under 18, with boys Division 1 and 2 and a girls division. Its season details give a start date of 9 September, an end on 9 December and finals on 16 December. A closing line on the same page says it starts on 13 September, but the competitions page also gives 9 September.
Games are four 8-minute quarters with a running clock. Team entry costs $1,450 per team for affiliated clubs and $1,650 per team for individual or independent teams, the same price in every division, with a discounted rate for clubs entering four or more teams.
Both competitions use a points system for rep players in Division 1: a team may include no more than 4 representative players, worth no more than 10 points combined. The Friday page adds that representative players may not play in Division 2. If your child has no team, the individual waiting list places players on teams, though it does not guarantee a spot. Competition enquiries go to (02) 9044 9199.
Before the 2027 trials, PCBA also ran Super League, an off-season competition for current representative players only, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 8 weeks from 25 August, with every team coached by PCBA rep coaches.
Ford Aussie Hoops is recommended for 5 to 10 year olds. In Term 4 2026 it runs for 10 weeks, with sessions on Mondays from 4pm to 5pm starting 12 October, Wednesdays from 5pm to 6pm starting 14 October, and two Saturday morning times starting 17 October. It costs $221 for a new participant including the pack, or $191 for a returning participant, and every participant must hold a valid Basketball NSW and PCBA membership. The association offers a free trial session through a form on the program page.
The Chargers Advanced Program (C.A.P) is PCBA's elite development pathway for 12 to 18 year olds, led by Basketball NSW club accredited coaches. Its Level 1, C.A.P Foundation, is aimed squarely at aspiring rep players and top domestic players who want to move into the representative system. Term 4 2026 runs on Mondays from 5pm to 6:30pm and Saturdays from 8am to 9:30am, from 12 October to 19 December, at $350 for 10 weeks including a Chargers jersey.
The Intermediate Program, for 10 to 17 year olds with some experience, is pitched as the bridge towards the Chargers Advanced Program and representative basketball. It runs on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm and Saturdays from 10:30am to 11:30am from 14 October 2026, at $295 for 10 weeks including a Chargers jersey. Division 1 of the Friday or Wednesday competition is the other step, because it is the division where rep players are allowed to play.
For local competition, register a team for the Friday or Wednesday competition, or join the individual waiting list. Fixtures, ladders and results are on Basketball Connect. For programs, enrol online for the term, and make sure your child's Basketball NSW and PCBA membership is current.
For the Chargers, complete PCBA's Intent to Trial form, then register for the trial for your child's age group. General enquiries go to 1300 855 679.
